Summary Of The Book
A thriller novel published in 1991, the story of The Doomsday Conspiracy revolves around an American naval officer who is faced with a task, post an accident in which some secret information has been leaked, but slowly realises that his own life is in danger.
Robert Bellamy is hired by the National Security Agency to find ten people who were on a tour bus in Switzerland while they witnessed the crash of a weather balloon. The weather balloon consisted some top secret gear. He later finds out that the weather balloon was actually a UFO. His job is to locate these people and get them to swear to secrecy.
As he starts locating these people, he realises each one of them is being killed, one after another, under seemingly accidental circumstances. Parallelly, it is revealed that Bellamy’s wife leaves him for some rich businessman.
Bellamy starts to learn strange things as he is nearing the completion of his mission. He realises he is being hunted by unknown attackers and so begins a game of hide and seek, spanning various nations. Who will help him, if at all? Is there something more to Bellamy’s life than what meets the eye?
Complete with interesting side characters and a detailed background, this novel has an easy to follow, yet highly unpredictable plot. The Doomsday Conspiracy was an inspiration to Dan Brown.
