Summary Of The Book

Sidney Sheldon’s After The Darkness is about the mystery revolving around the disappearance of the billionaire, Leonard Brookstein. Brookstein is a billionaire who lives a very comfortable life with his wife, Grace. He is extremely rich, and very affluent as well, causing him to be highly respected in society all over the world. Because of his wealth, Leonard has estates in every corner of the world, and is considered a financial genius.

Leonard, also known as Lenny, decides to go on a sailing trip, and disappears mysteriously during that trip. He is then found to be dead as a result of a so-called accident while sailing. This novel has been loosely based on the famous Bernie Madoff scandal, which had taken place in America.

Along with this tragic event, it is found that Lenny’s hedge fund, which was worth seventy five billion dollars, has also disappeared without a clue. This results in the blame being put on Grace. As a result of this, Grace is convicted, and thrown into prison. Her extravagant way of life suddenly comes to a standstill, and she is left all alone.

In this major turn of events, Grace finds herself lost and helpless. She is sure of the fact that she has been framed, and now she must make every effort to avenge this injustice. The author has been able to create a plot that is loaded with suspense, action, and drama. Sidney Sheldon’s After The Darkness details how Grace tries to get justice and the perils she faces.
